My first Virgin Longhaul flight

Suprisingly good

Well, after so many miles on a plane and so many mediocre to bad experiences flying different Airlines I finally had my first flight with Virgin from London to JFK. Departure 6 p.m.. It all started with no delays on my way to Heathrow (keepp in mind I started on a friday evening), no delays @ chekin and (almost) no flight delays. That! is a friday evening Heathrow miracle. Anyway, entering the Virgin plane I saw a very funky interior, flight attendant came by asking me whether I want a massage on the flight and I noticed a full operating bar with bar keeper in the cabin. Coming from the perspective of many other airlines this was a pleasant trip. Well, upon arrival we entered the immigration hall @ JFK and a Korean Airkines 747 landed just before us. Immigration took 2 hrs... Enjoy.

Well, you sometimes feel like a stranger in a foreign country. After a week in one of the least exciting cities that I know I was desperate to fly back. Check In @ Delta Airlines. Always a pleasure. As a foreign visitor you get a special treat. Your boarding pass is always! marked with "SSSS" - which basically means "Suspicious". You have the pleasure to get a red box @ security. You enter a special GE equipment and all your luggage will be specially screened for explosives... The first few checkins I thought that this is a random excercise but after so many trips I realized it is a standard procedure - or treat - for foreign passenger. Feels like discrimination to me. Enjyo the trip :-)
